Melanie Ann Amaro was born on 26 June 1992 in America. She is an American-born British Virgin pop star, who won the first season of U.S. television series The X Factor in 2011, securing a $ 5,000,000 recording contract with Epic Records.
Amaro was born in Miami, Florida, USA and raised in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. She is the daughter of Hipolito Amaro and Debra Sylvester Amaro. At age eleven, she began singing in school musicals, church choirs and Sweet Sixteen.
