The Indian auto major Mahindra and Mahindra, preparing to reopen the order of its new product Mahindra XUV 500th, which had been code-named the 'World SUV W201. "Mahindra has announced the official name of the new SUV will be sold as XUV500. It Mahindra XUV500 been developed from scratch, and only one thing is common in Scorpio and XUV500 - the mHawk diesel engine (which has also been tuned to develop 140 hp of maximum power and 330 Nm of torque).
XUV500 has been in negotiations last year, now is the time and Mahindra has finally launched XUV500. Mahindra has priced the base model of XUV500 very competitive Rs. 11.10 lakhs only (Ex-showroom Delhi). Manufactured in Mahindra, RS 2500 crore plant in Chakana, the total investment in the project Rs 650 crore.
XUV500 has been tested over 2.35 mn km, with over 250 prototypes built. The company expects to sell 2,000 units of XUV500 each month. Conceptualized with the aim of creating an entirely new category between Scorpio and high-end SUVs, it XUV500 next generation SUV aimed at Generation X, where the double O connotes that extra Oomph value in the product.
